Volunteering in LCFC Programs
We have a growing group of devoted volunteers clocking in many hours at the barn to provide the various programs. Volunteers include horse owners, students, and neighborhood residents who appreciate how horses can effect humans. We are always looking for more good volunteers.

Fundraising Activities
Please note that all events are suspended during our renovation.
Fall Festival
The Conservancy’s annual Fall Festival is a major fund raising event for the Conservancy and brings many people to the Farm to enjoy the setting and animals up close. There were 450 visitors during the four-hours of the second annual festival. This is a 50 % increase over last year’s festival.
The Festival offers pony rides for kids, horseback rides for adults, jumping and exhibition riding, kid’s crafts and just the chance to visit a farm inside the perimeter!
Money is raised by admission, donations, silent auction, merchandise, and food sales.

Manure Day! (Back in 2011!)
Twice a year the Conservancy invites Atlanta’s gardeners to share our wonderful, composted manure on Manure Day. This has been very popular with residents from all over the county. Funds are used to support organic pasture management. Leaf Bags filled are $5.00. Pickup truckloads are $25.00.

Manure Day 2007 - The kids at the barn volunteered to move a mountain of organic fertilizer and raise money for LCFC programs.

And the adults also dig manure at Little Creek.
Pony Rides
Three times a year LCFC volunteers organize pony rides for children at the farm. Teenage volunteers are the backbone of this event. The spirit of volunteerism at Little Creek stands out when seeing these young people work for hours . Proceeds go to the Outreach programs of the Conservancy. The horses and equipment were provided by the boarders at the Farm.

Little Creek horses are selected

Even with 5 horses giving 100 rides each hour, the line stayed long all afternoon.
